General information only
The guides, templates and calculators on TradingForms are general information to help you understand and prepare trade paperwork. They are not legal, customs, tax, financial or professional advice, and they do not create any adviser relationship.
Document templates
Templates show common formats. Requirements differ by country, by customs authority, by bank and by contract: a letter of credit, a trade agreement or an importing country may require different wording, fields or official forms. Some documents are valid only when issued or certified by a third party, such as a bill of lading by the carrier or a certificate of origin by a chamber of commerce. You are responsible for checking that a document meets the requirements that apply to you.
Calculators and figures
Calculators use standard formulas and show them, but carriers, customs authorities and contracts apply their own rules, divisors, rounding and minimum charges. Container sizes and weights are typical published values; real containers differ. Confirm freight, duty and tax figures with your forwarder, customs broker or adviser before you commit to a price or a shipment.
Incoterms
Our Incoterms pages and charts summarise the ICC's Incoterms® 2020 rules in simplified form. The official ICC publication and your sales contract decide your rights and obligations. Incoterms® is a trademark of the International Chamber of Commerce; TradingForms is not affiliated with the ICC.
Codes, rates and rules
HS codes, duty rates, tax rates and regulations change. Where we mention them, check the current official source, such as your country's customs tariff, before relying on them. Only the customs authority can confirm a classification, for example with a binding ruling.
