What a QFX file is
QFX is the file a bank offers for Quicken. It is handy for Quicken but closed to everything else. If you are moving off Quicken, sharing data with an accountant or just want the numbers in a sheet, convert it to Excel here.
What a QFX file is
QFX is Open Financial Exchange with Intuit's extra sign on fields (the Intuit bank ID), the same family as QuickBooks QBO files. Inside are your account details, a list of transactions with their dates, amounts, payee names and memos, and the ledger balance at the end of the period.
Moving from Quicken to a spreadsheet or another program
- Download QFX files from online banking for the months you need (or export them from Quicken where your version allows).
- Drop them here together.
- Download Excel for a sheet, or CSV for importing into another money program.
- Need QuickBooks instead? Press QBO: the same transactions are written as a QuickBooks Web Connect file.

How do I convert QFX to Excel?
Drop the .qfx files above and press Excel. Several files are merged into one sheet, sorted by date.
Why is the Balance column empty?
A QFX file lists transactions without a running balance; it only has the balance at the end. Add a running balance in Excel with a simple formula if you need one.
Can I convert QFX to QBO for QuickBooks?
Yes. After loading the QFX file press QBO. Check File settings for the account type and bank ID before you import.
Will duplicates appear if my downloads overlap?
No. Each transaction carries a bank transaction ID; one that appears in two files is kept once.
Is it free, and is there a limit?
Yes, it is free with no sign up and no limit, because the conversion runs in your browser and uses none of our servers.
