Convert Bank Statement to Excel

Convert a bank statement PDF to Excel or CSV for free: the PDF is opened in your browser, the transactions are read into rows, and every running balance is checked so you can trust the spreadsheet.

Free, no sign up. One file counts as one use.

How to convert a bank statement PDF to Excel

  1. Download your statement as a PDF from online banking, or use a scan or a photo of a paper statement.
  2. Choose or drop the PDF above. If it is password protected, type the password; it stays in your browser.
  3. Pick the date order if your bank writes dates like 03/04/2026, so day and month are not mixed up.
  4. Wait a few seconds per page while the transactions are read, then check the summary.
  5. Download Excel or CSV. Rows that need a look are highlighted in the file too.

How is the spreadsheet checked?

Each row's balance must equal the previous balance plus money in minus money out. Our code checks that on every row, and checks that the opening balance plus all money in minus all money out equals the closing balance. When an amount was read on the wrong side and swapping it makes the balance exact, it is corrected and marked "corrected"; anything else that does not add up is marked "check" so you can compare it with the PDF.

Is it safe to convert a bank statement online here?

Your file is never uploaded. It is opened in your own browser (a scan or photo is read there by OCR), and only the text of each page is sent over an encrypted connection to our own AI server to be split into rows, used once and not saved. The password of a protected PDF never leaves your device. Nobody needs an account, and we do not keep the file, the text or the spreadsheet.

Which statements work?

Digital PDFs from online banking read best, because their text is exact. Scanned paper statements and phone photos (JPG, PNG) are read by OCR on your device first; keep the page flat, well lit and fully in view, and check the rows the balance check marks. Very long statements are converted up to 20 pages at a time; split larger files by month.

Need a file for QuickBooks or Quicken?

Under the Excel and CSV buttons you also get QBO (QuickBooks Web Connect), QFX (Quicken), OFX and IIF (QuickBooks Desktop) from the same rows. "File settings" there sets the account type, account number and Intuit bank ID.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a bank statement PDF to Excel for free?

Choose the PDF above, wait while the pages are read, check the summary, then download Excel or CSV. It is free with no sign up; one file counts as one use of the fair use limit.

Is my bank statement uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened in your browser. Only the text of each page goes to our own AI server to be split into rows, and it is not saved. The PDF password never leaves your device.

How do I know the numbers are right?

Every running balance is checked in code, along with the opening and closing balance. Rows that do not add up are marked check, both on screen and in the Excel file, so you only need to look at those.

Can it convert scanned statements?

Yes. A scan or photo has no text layer, so each page is read by OCR in your browser first. A PDF from online banking is still the most accurate; with a scan, check the rows the balance check marks.

Does it work with any bank?

It reads the text layout of any digital statement, so it does not need a template per bank. If your bank prints dates like 03/04/2026, choose the date order so day and month are read correctly.

Can I get CSV instead of Excel?

Yes. Download Excel (.xlsx) or CSV; the CSV opens in Excel, Google Sheets and accounting software that imports bank files.
